Earlier today, Mike Pettine has been demoted from defensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills to the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. “It’s disappointing,” a somber Pettine told reporters outside of the Cleveland Browns facility, “I think the hardest thing was having to tell my family. I mean, my kids have to live with this. Can you imagine what the other kids at school are saying to them?” A visibly shaken Pettine had to compose himself for a few seconds before continuing, “The best thing I can do is put my head down, get to work and hope that someday I can move to a higher position, like defensive coordinator for the Panthers or ball boy for the Broncos. I mean, that’s why we’re in this league, right? To keep striving for better and better jobs.” Pettine’s peers in the league have expressed their sympathies and surprise, although Gus Bradley, head coach of the Jaguars, claimed that he could only “dream of a gig like the Cleveland Browns.”
